I remember well, back in my days as Program Director at Seybold Seminars, where we all thought: OK, there’s print, and then there’s the web. So print will be repurposed to the web. Of course that was our print-centric viewpoint. It was shared by many. But these days web campaigns are usually planned before print campaigns, assuming print campaigns are entertained at all.
Now we’re in the days of eBooks. I’d never entertained the thought that an eBook might be considered before the printed book. What a fool. The ever-provocative Mike Shatzkin has begun to think this through, and his posting is the most important I’ve read in weeks.
Essential reading for all.
